Walking on a chilly May 18 was the tonic for my lazy body..it takes a little extra motivation ..but Savannah my wired up Border collie x helps in that department. Professional food stealer extraordinaire and hyperactive girl that she is ..I haven't put her to the test..but I am convinced she could walk until collapse. She senses when I put the running shoes on and correct sweater made for the walk and is ready to go at the door..

Auction Addict
Spent part of my Saturday at the local auction..It's remarkable to simply watch and listen to the auctioneers at work.To people watch..and ogle the splendid historical offerings .Equipped with my card I was ready to bid..I set a limit and try not to let myself get caught up in the adrenelin rush of the moment..I left with a lovely $2 leather footstool ,a $ 12 primitive 1800's wooden box and a primitive painted white chaIR..$6..Missed out on the game ephemera ..but sometimes enough is what you have in hand..

A personal art Journey to a not so faraway place
Distillery district
Burrito Boys..oh so yummy fare..I happened upon this little treasure of a restaurant by chance..what a find!
gorgeous blown glass
distillery building.fine architecture!
OCAD grad exhibit..the building has changed substantially from my 70's years there
A weekend visit to Toronto was stimulating and inspirational..It is important to step out of my comfortable little world now and then and explore ..On foot or transit all weekend gave me my experiences up close ..and I felt quite positive about my encounters with people and the youthful creative energy of Queen West and the wonderful art village called the Distillery District..Thanks to an artist friend from Toronto..I was able to partake in her Cafe Society art group..tour distillery galleries and enjoy a yummy meal/and satisfying conversation in the Mill street brewery there with a group of like/art minded people ..The beer was exceptionally good on a sunny afternoon..and the company was warm and envigorating..later an art opening of one of the Cafe artists downtown on Queen West added another layer of experience to the day ..more good chat..and then when the music level climbed higher to ear shattering decibels we bid farewell to the night....

Darling Desboro
Well I spent a little time meandering (something I tend not to do these days) in Desboro ..I had just finished with my tutoring at Sullivan school..and walked over to the town centre to explore a little while my little car was being made a little safer for me(brakes!) at the local garage ..Peaceful,sleepy and with a perfect crossroads ..I saw beauty in this little town when I paid closer attention to the details..and was on foot ..so had to take in sights slowly..

Contemplating the green
lovely alpacas ..fur & feather show
mini goat
pot bellies..
tulips in Guelph
Guelph greyhound
I am quite content just to watch the grass grow these days..what a concept! Yes it is indeed growing again..which after all that snow blanketing the world feels like a miracle of sorts..Senses are open again-birds announce their joy and mayhem, flowers start to tentatively open.Frost still presents it's unwelcome self recent morning..but the green is the marker of a new season,,no going back until October!A visit to Guelph last weekend was adventurous..new sights..new stimuli..And the Fur and feather show in Mount Forest offered the experience of witnessing such beautiful (and sorrowful) creatures of every form up close.
